I am Sebastian Garate. I live in Fitzroy, Melbourne, where I have made my permanent home. Originally from Ecuador, I studied Creative Writing at postgraduate level there, and hold master’s degrees in Creative Writing and Intellectual Property—giving me a unique blend of storytelling and copyright knowledge.
To me, this blog is a space for exploration, not a catalogue of achievements. Here, I share book reviews and reflections, and occasional short fiction stories. Reading and writing fill my glass, making my life full of meaning. I love fiction, especially horror and queer literature, though I also enjoy bestsellers and classics across genres—they’re always worth reading.
Fitzroy’s cafés fuel my writing, and I want this creative space to grow organically over time, without rush or pressure.
